Arriving at the Airport:
PNH airport is very simple, once you get your Visa Stamp, you walk outside the gate. Exchanges and ATMs are outside. There is no pressure. You're not walking through a labyrinth of touts.
Once you have arrived at PNH Airport, you will have to take transportation to the City Centre. Here are your options:
Fixed Price:
Airport Car Taxi, Airport Tuk-Tuk, Private Taxi (pre-booked with Klook)
Negotiated Price:
Tuk-Tuk (Walk Outside the airport, there are no shortages)
It takes 30 to 50 minutes (depending on rush hour 6-8 pm) to get to the City Centre.
Inside tip* if you have a early flight out make sure you have a guaranteed transportation to the airport

Royal Railway if the official Railway station of Cambodia. There are two lines.
The South Line, which runs all the way down to Sihanoukville and the North Line which runs to Poipet

Bus:
There are only two bus companies that I would personally recommend. Giant Ibis and Vireak Buntham. They have different style buses depending on Day and Night travel.
Giant Ibis: Bathroom in the overnight buses. Recommended for trips to Siem Reap.
Vireak Buntham: For trips going to Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri and back to Phnom Penh. Did not have bathroom inside the bus for overnight travels.

*tip: i suggest you arrive there 30 minutes early. The workers are pretty subtle with their process and on boarding. Especially if you don't speak the language. You don't want to be hustling and asking around to get on your bus.
When taking Vireak Buntham, you may be stopping along the way to pick up additional passengers. This is common if you are taking a trip during the day.
Where To Stay: Best Neighborhoods To Stay In
Location is the most important factor when planning a trip. In this guide I will show you the top neighborhoods in Phnom Penh and where to stay. Sometimes where you stay will determine your entire trip experience, because you don’t want to take local transportation and taxis every where you go. The map below shows the best places to stay in Phnom Penh.
Boeng Keng Kang 1 (BKK1):
BKK1 (Boeung Keng Kang 1) is a popular and vibrant neighborhood located in central Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Known for its Expat community and international restaurants and shops. It is one of the expensive areas in Phnom Penh. Surrounded by condominium, boutique hotels, international restaurants, and many more. If you're looking for a more quiet and modern feel with diversity then BKK1 is for you.
Location Checklist:
Tourist Friendly / Safety:
BKK1 is generally considered a safe and secure neighborhood within Phnom Penh. It has a significant expatriate community and a diverse range of international dining options.
Proximity to Markets: BKK1 is not far from popular markets like the Russian Market (Tuol Tom Poung Market) and Orussey Market.
Budget Considerations: Accommodation and dining options in BKK1 can vary, but it is considered more upscale and may cater more towards mid to higher budgets.
Cultural Attractions: While BKK1 itself is more of a residential and commercial area, it is located close to key cultural attractions such as the Royal Palace, National Museum, and Wat Phnom.
*tip most of the hotels are generally in the north part of BKK1, its ideal to stay around here for amenities in the area
